Layout and production of the book The Semantics of the Fair in Hejduk’s Work, written by Sergio Miñarro. The book analyzes how, in 1984, John Hejduk presented a project for a Holocaust memorial in Berlin, using his concept of masquerades: symbolic architectures representing the victims of Nazism. In his work Victims, Hejduk included typical fairground elements, such as Ferris wheels and carousels, with minimal design intervention, integrating them as part of the whole. The research suggests that the fair functions as an interpretive key for both this project and Hejduk’s enigmatic body of work in general.
